Natalia Carlson is a Lighting Designer and Assistant Lighting Designer. She found her passion for lighting in high school and has never looked back. She earned a BFA in Lighting Design and Technology from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music with a Minor in German Studies. In 2023 she was the Hemsley Lighting Intern and worked at the San Francisco Opera, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater and New York City Ballet. Outside of work she enjoys traveling and spending time in nature.

Currently Natalia is working as the Associate Lighting Director for the Cincinnati Opera and the Assistant Lighting Director for Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater .

Recent works include the world premier of Lalovavi at the Cincinnati Opera. This was the first of 3 new operas in the Black Opera Project. Other works include Fiddler on the Roof at The Alliance Theater, Mean Girls at The City Springs Theater Company and The Marriage of Figaro at The Atlanta Opera.
